BREAKING: Kitchen fire closes Sunshine Station
PHILIPSBURG - A fire at the Sunshine Station has put the local eatery out of business, at least in the short term.
The Philipsburg Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the restaurant at 8:59 a.m. Friday morning, sending multiple trucks and fireman to the scene. When they arrived they found that a fire had started in the kitchen area. According to PVFD member Jim Jenner, the damage was major.
Jenner also noted that the electricity was out to the entire building and could affect the operation of the bar and the store short term.
The restaurant will have to be investigated, evaluated and repaired before it can reopen. The length of that process cannot be determined present.
