Granite, Drummond sweep visiting opponents

GRANITE – The Lady Prospectors picked up a win Thursday night at home, beating the visiting Panthers in a trio of close games, 25-20, 25-21 and 25-20.
“We did some things well,” said Granite Head Coach Jennifer Graham. “It's important for us to work on our mental game and really push ourselves to be more focused and consistent.”
Granite had 14 kills as a team with junior Emma Grange collecting four of them to lead her squad. Grange was also the team leader in Assists with six and aces with six.
Sierra Metesh had 14 digs on defense and Reece Pitcher chipped in three of Granite’s five blocks.
The Lady Prospectors will take a day off Friday before heading out on the road Saturday to play the Mustangs in Ennis.

DRUMMOND – The Lady Trojans swept passed the Wildcats Thursday night at home, 25-14, 25-10, 25-21.
Hailey Swarengen led Drummond in aces with eight and tied teammate Sydney Phillips with kills with seven each. Phillips and Sara Kielley had four aces each, with the latter also chipping in eight assists. Gracie Weaver and Hannahd Bradshaw had three defensive digs each.
“The girls all did a great job!” remarked Drummond Head Coach Shona Bradshaw. “We started our rotations differently just to see how things worked out and I was really pleased.”
The Lady Trojans hit the road Saturday to play the Bears in Lima.
