Granite loses tough match with Twin Bridges
PHILIPSBURG – While a 3-0 loss looks bad, in volleyball it can be very deceiving.
The Falcons of Twin Bridges knew they had been in a battle Thursday night as they escaped the Granite High School gymnasium with a 25-23, 25-22, 25-18.
“There were some good things, Amelia Hill, Emma Grange, Haddie Tallon and Sierra Metesh played great! The other girls are working hard and pushing themselves to improve.
“We would pull ourselves so close. … The twin coach complimented our scrappy play and hustle.”
Granite was close in every game, holding brief leads before the more experienced Falcon squad would regroup and find a way to win.
Hill, a sophomore, came on string later in the match, notching five kills and two big blocks to lead the Lady Prospectors. Emma Grange dealt out nine assists. Asha Comings and Haddie Tallon had two aces each, while Comings tied with Sierra Metesh had 5 defensive digs apiece.
Granite will take Friday to regroup before hosting the Anaconda JV squad Saturday in Philipsburg.
