Drummond, Granite start basketball season Friday in Frenchtown
FRENCHTOWN - The prep sports season is headed full tilt into winter, with the Western Tipoff Tournament taking place Friday and Saturday in Frenchtown. Each team will play two games, one each day.
Drummond will be the first local squad to get underway, with the Trojan boys taking on Plains at 10:30 a.m. Friday the junior high gymnasium. The Lady Trojans will also play Plains in the very next game at Frenchtown High School at noon.
The Granite boys will play Darby Friday afternoon, also in the junior high gym, at 3 p.m. The Lady Prospectors close out play for the girls in the high school gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, the boys and girls switch gymnasiums.The Trojan boys will start play at 9 a.m. against Two Eagle. The Prospectors follow right behind them at 10:30 a.m. against Clark Fork.
The Lady Trojans play their second game against Charlo at 1:30 p.m., with the Lady Prospectors closing out their day against the Sentinel JV at 4:30.
Following the tournament the Trojans will travel to Seeley Swan Dec. 7 for their first regular season games of the year. The JV teams play at 2:30 and 4 p.m. followed by the varsity girls at 5:30 and the boys at 7.
Granite will wait a full two weeks before they get back into action Dec. 14 when they host the Sheridan Panthers. JV games are at 3 and 4:30, followed by the girls varsity at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30.
