Prospector men, women earn easy wins over Lincoln
PHILIPSBURG – Eight points in 41 seconds. That was all it took to get the Granite Prospectors well on their way to a 57-41 win over Lincoln Saturday night in Philipsburg.
“That start really helped us gain the momentum that we never lost throughout the game,” said Granite Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We were the aggressors on both sides of the floor and controlled the boards. I was able to play some of younger kids as and get them some valuable varsity experience.
“It's an extremely fun group of kids to coach. They played hard from the tip off to the final horn.”
The Prospectors led 20-9 after one and 34-17 at halftime before the Lynx were finally able to pace the locals over the final two periods. But by then it was too little, too late.
Kade Cutler led Granite in scoring, while Daniel Brabender added 16 and Brian Ward 10.
