Trojan teams scuttle visiting Pirates
DRUMMOND – The Lady Trojans used a balanced scoring attack in easily defeating the Victor Lady Pirates Tuesday night in Drummond, 63-26.
“This offense I’m running you never know who is going to go off,” said Lady Trojan Head Coach Nate Bignell. “I’ve had four different girls as the high scorer, so that’s pretty good. We’ve got to be well-rounded and any of the other girls out there could go off.
“We’re working on different offenses. I still wanted them to push the ball just so they stay in shape. Playing just half the game you lose a lot of conditioning.”
Drummond opened up with a dominating 20-2 run that saw the visiting Pirates stay scoreless until there was just 45.2 seconds left on the first quarter clock. As it turned out, that lead was more than enough to notch the win.
Eight Lady Trojans found their way into the scorebook, all falling within five points of each other. Senior Donna Seekell led Drummond with 11 points, while Sydney Phillips scored 10.
The Lady Trojans and their Trojan men counterparts will be on the road Friday at Ennis before returning home Friday to play Lima.

SITE – Despite Head Coach Levi Parsons feeling like his Trojans played below par, Drummond easily handled the visiting Pirates to earn a 17-point win.
“We were sluggish and we couldn’t really just crawl out of it,” observed Parsons. “I don’t know what the answer is but we just don’t really have the fire we need. No matter how hard we’ve tried we just can’t seem to crawl out of it. We just couldn’t get into a rhythm of playing hard.”
Jonah Parke again led the Trojan attack with 21 points with Luke Holland contributing 15.
