Granite blasts Sheridan behind Brabender’s 22 points
SHERIDAN – Junior Daniel Brabender scored a game-high 22 points as the Prospectors easily beat Sheridan, 66-34.
“Kids came out and executed really well after the first quarter,” observed Granite Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We got some great looks and shared the basketball.
“I was happy with our energy and unselfish play. We got better as a basketball team tonight.”
The Prospectors held a scant two-point lead after the first eight minutes. But the second quarter saw the locals apply a staunch defense while repeating their offensive output of the first to hold a 30-17 halftime advantage.
That’s when Brabender took the game into his hands, scoring 14 of Granite’s 22 third quarter points.
Brabender led all scorers in the game for the Prospectors, with Kade Cutler scoring 14 and Bryce Parret turning in a 10-point night.
Granite will host Lima Saturday and then head to Drummond to renew the county hardwood rivalry against the Trojans January 24.
