Oberweiser sets three-pointer mark for Jimmies
JAMESTOWN (ND) – Kevin Oberweiser set a new single-season three-point record for the University of Jamestown Jimmies Wednesday night at Harold Newman Arena.
Oberweiser, a graduate of Drummond High School and the son of Jim & Jodi Oberweiser, is in his second year with the Jimmies after two seasons at Montana State-Northern. In those two years he has lit it up from long distance, hitting 101 of 228 three-point baskets to give him the single-season record for the team. He made three from beyond the arc in Wednesday’s loss to Dordt University, 97-94. Oberweiser led the Jimmies with 24 points and seven rebounds in the loss.
Having hit 91 three-pointers last season, Oberweiser now has 192 for his career at Jamestown, ranking him fourth all-time. He needs 13 more before season’s end to move into third place all-time.
Earlier this season Oberweiser scored his 1,000th career point for the Jimmies, making him just the 31st player in the program to achieve that mark.
