BREAKING: Drummond, Hall cancel class; Granite, Helmville will start on delay
GRANITE COUNTY – The impending snow totals slated for Tuesday, combined with the approximately 10+ inches that the area has already received, has cause the Drummond and Hall school districts to cancel classes for Tuesday.
As of press time, both Granite and Helmville will be operating on a two-hour delay to start their school day. Mike Cutler, Philipsburg Schools Superintendent, stated that he will look at weather conditions in the morning to determine of a closure is warranted.
The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service will remain in effect until 11 a.m.
The NWS also warns residents against travel, with large amounts of ice on roadways and visibility being reduced to near zero. Winds will accompany this weather system and may cause the wind chill to drop temperatures to as low as 30 degrees below zero.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
