Fatality shuts down I-90 Wednesday night
DRUMMOND – A car crash proved fatal Wednesday night just west of Drummond.
Erika Kruger of Helena (16 years of age) was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected and died as a result of blunt force trauma in connection to last night’s reported fatality crash on Interstate 90, 3 miles west of Drummond at mile marker 150.
According to a Granite County Sheriff’s Department press release, at approximately 8:57 P.M. Wednesday night emergency responders were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 90. Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected and Kruger died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Another occupant of the vehicle was flown to a Missoula area Hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.
Westbound traffic on I-90 was shut down for about 2 hours.
Highway Patrol and the Granite County Sheriff Office are continuing to investigate.
