BUTTE—Flowers are blooming at Thompson Park! Come join the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest on Saturday, June 1 for a walk through the woods, and learn about the colorful wildflowers of the area. As an added bonus, entomologists from MSU and the Rocky Mountain Research Station in Bozeman will provide pollinator identification expertise.
This family friendly event is free to all and designed for those interested in learning more about the local flora and pollinators. The hike will begin at 10 a.m. at Sagebrush Flats in Thompson Park and participants will hike approximately two miles of Jon’s Gulch trail.
Those interested should come dressed for inclement weather and bring a snack, water, rain gear, sunscreen, camera and a snack or lunch. A wildflower field guide and magnifying hand lens is also encouraged, but they will be available to share on the tour.
