2022 Class C State Track & Field Meet (Day 2)
GREAT FALLS – The Granite and Drummond track and field squads ended their season at Great Falls High School Saturday at Day 2 of the Class C State Championship.
The Trojans’ Sam Bryant had the best meet of the bunch, finishing third in the 300m hurdles and second in the 110m hurdles. Bryant, a senior, lost the latter race by a scant five hundredths of a second.
Sophomore Scott Parke ran to a third-place finish in the 3,200 meters and 6th in the 1,600m run.
For the Lady Trojans the best finish of the meet belonged to senior Macy Williams. Williams was in 11th position heading into the final lap of the 800m when she turned on the jets to claim fourth at the finish line. She also placed 6th in the 1,600m.
Freshman Montannah Piar was the top finisher for Granite, earning fifth in the triple jump with a personal best of 34’6”. She also placed 12th in the Long jump behind senior teammate Asha Comings. Comings claimed seventh in the high jump.
Ella Tallon rounded out the effort for the Lady Prospectors with a 20th place finish in the 3,200m.
Senior Avery Metesh and junior Andrew Tallon were the lone competitors on the boys’ side. Metesh was seventh in the long jump while Tallon claimed ninth in the javelin.
