Charlo claims tight four-set match over Drummond

CHARLO – Try as they might, the Lady Trojans just couldn’t muster quite enough points to hold off the Vikings as they lost in Charlo 6-25, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25.

After having trouble finding any rhythm in the opening set, Drummond seemed to get in sync in set two to even the match at one game each. But the Vikings proved to be slightly better over the final two sets to escape with a 3-1 victory.

Dawn Hauptman and Delaney Wagner tied for top honors in blocks with three each, while Hauptman went to register team bests in kills (8) and digs (11). Jesse Struna doled out eight assists and Liz Perry was tops in service aces with three.

Drummond head back to action Monday night when they host Lincoln before taking on county rival Granite Tuesday.
