Downtown Market to hold multicultural event in Anaconda, Montana

ANACONDA – The Downtown Market is set to make another appearance, this time in the heart of Anaconda March 5, 2022.

The event, which will be held at the historic Washoe Theater, will feature a variety of merchants and entertainment in an effort to raise funds for two nonprofits - the Anaconda Family Resource Center (AFRC) and Discover Deer Lodge.

Tickets for the event are $20 per person with a portion going to the AFRC. Children 12 and under are free.

A raffle has been created to help raise funds for Discover Deer Lodge. Raffle tickets are available through the Downtown Market website (through the ‘Contact us” page at www.downtownmarket.org), its Facebook page (@dtmkt406) by messenger or by emailing mktdonate@gmail.com. More than 20 items have been donated by event vendors and local businesses in support of the Downtown Market mission.

Performers will be featured on the main stage while vendors will be spread throughout the Washoe Theater, allowing visitors to see the historic venue while sharing a variety of music and shopping experiences.

Music from a variety of genres will include classic rock, country, Native American drumming and dancing, and opera. Performers include Opera by Elora Danielle O’Carey (Philipsburg), Country/Rock by Willy McNeill (Anaconda), Group Meditation by Elsa Janney & Sonny Cree (Butte), Folk/Blue Grass Music by the return of Sonny Cree (Butte), Medieval Music by the Hopkins Family Players (Philipsburg), Native American Flute by River Deliso (Ennis), Karate demonstration by the Anaconda Martial Arts Academy, Irish Mythology & Celtic Tales by Paul Doherty (Ireland/Salt Lake City) and Classic Rock by Donny Elliot (Bozeman), Blues by Big Rich (Philipsburg).

If shopping is more up your alley, then the Downtown Market has a great selection of vendors, businesses and non-profits. From artisan soaps and African baskets to pottery and Montana Made products, this unique collection of items would make great additions to your home or for upcoming birthdays and holidays. The list includes locals as well as creators from as far away as Bellevue, Washington.

According to their website, Downtown Market was founded by community-minded Montanans seeking creative ways to support local towns, building both community and economic prosperity. “Now more than ever businesses, artists, musicians, and communities need to work together, lifting each other up while celebrating and sustaining the communities we love!”
