Drummond blasts Lincoln with total team effort
DRUMMOND – The Lady Trojans used a strong effort from both ends of the bench Thursday night as they easily beat visiting Lincoln, 25-13, 25-8, 25-20.
The third game in the set wasn’t nearly as close as the score looks, as Drummond played its reserves for the majority of the match. Only when the tally saw the locals up by a single point 21-20, did DHS Head Coach Brooks Phillips reinsert the starting corps to finish off the night.
“It was a great team effort tonight,” said Phillips. “We got everyone playing time. It was great to see the starters supporting the rest of the team, cheering them on and giving them pointers. These girls are just such a good team.”
The biggest stat of the night went to senior Deana Parke who collected 15 of the team’s 27 service aces. She also added five defensive digs. Sydney Phillips had four kills, Jesse Struna six assists and Holly Hauptman two blocks to round out the stat sheet.
The Lady Trojans will take to the road Saturday to face off against a tough Clark Fork squad. In their previous match Drummond swept the Mountain Cats 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 Sept. 15.
