Drummond falls in five-set match to Valley Christian
MISSOULA – The Lady Trojans suffered their second straight loss Saturday, this time falling to Valley Christian in a tough match 3-2.
Drummond came out firing on all cylinders to earn a 25-9 victory in the first set, only to have the Eagles rally to win a close set two. Valley claimed set three in a tight 26-24 score with Drummond bouncing back strong to claim the fourth set 25-8. But in the rubber game of the match the Eagles escaped with a 16-14 win and overall victory.
Despite the loss the Lady Trojans battled throughout the match and posted some solid numbers statistically. Holly Hauptman posted a season-best 16 kills to go with a block, 10 digs and a pair of service aces. Jesse Struna had eight service aces, five of which came early in Drummond’s set 4 win. She also tied Paytn Rasor with 13 assists each.
Drummond will try and get back on the winning track Thursday when they travel to Lincoln to face the Lynx.

The Lady Trojan JV prevailed in a hard-fought four-set match on the road.
Delaney Wagner had seven kills and Brooke Hicks seven aces to lead Drummond.
