Drummond hoopsters sweep visiting Lincoln
DRUMMOND – On a chilly night in Drummond, Kimber Parsons got hot quick for the Lady Trojans.
The freshman guard scored 19 points in the first quarter to lead her squad past visiting Lincoln 62-11 Saturday night.
Drummond scored 32 points in the opening period, fueled by Parsons’ performance, aided by five from Lexi Nelson, six from Liz Perry and two from Bailey Parke. The 28-point lead established after the first period was more than enough to secure Drummond’s fifth district win in as many starts.
It also served to give Drummond a sweep of the Lady Lynx in the regular season.
“We’ve just been working on the fundamentals,” observed DHS Head Coach Nate Bignell after the win.
Parsons finished with 24 points, Perry 14 and nelson 13.
Drummond gets some time off before playing county rival Granite on Friday, January 13 at home.

Holding a 30-10 lead at halftime, DHS Head Coach Levi parsons was ready for it – the inevitable lull that his team experienced the previous two games against Powell County and Seeley Swan. And while his squad rallied to win both of those games, he and assistant coach Adam Parke were ready to deal with it when it happened against Lincoln Saturday night.
“We called timeout and we discussed that our passing was bad and that we’d gotten incredibly lazy and un-energized,” Parsons of his team. “But we went out and moved the ball well, picked it up on defense again and started blocking out better and got back to our game.”
Righting their ship allowed the Trojans to secure their fifth district win in as many tries as they get ready for Granite next Friday.
Colt Parsons led the locals in scoring with 27, while Brody Rasor added nine points and seven steals.
