Drummond joins Granite with online broadcast of sporting events
GRANITE COUNTY – Trojan sports have joined the Prospectors in broadcasting live sports over the Internet.
Cameras donated by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) over the summer are now active at Drummond and Granite high schools in Granite County. Granite’s gym camera has been active for a few weeks. Drummond’s cameras, in their gum and at their football field, were calibrated this week and are active as of Tuesday.
With the second half of the county rivalry volleyball match taking place tonight, Oct. 20, fans unable to get one of the limited tickets for the match can now watch it live online.
Viewers will need to purchase either a monthly or one-year subscription to view the games. Since the cameras were donated, the schools will see no revenue from the monthly subscriptions until the 2023-2024 school year. However, Drummond and Granite will receive $20 of the $70 annual subscription. It’s a great way to support the schools if you plan to watch games online. Monthly subscriptions are $10.95.
Tonight’s volleyball match can be accessed by visiting either school’s NFHS page. For Granite’s page CLICK HERE and for Drummond’s page CLICK HERE.
Once subscribed, subscribers can view any game at any school on the network, and can do so from anywhere in the world.
Any event that is scheduled by the school at these facilities can be viewed with a subscription. Already on Drummond’s docket is the Middle School football game against Powell County Wednesday afternoon, while Granite has both its varsity and junior varsity matches against Clark Fork set for Thursday afternoon.
When the postseason starts for 8-man football, it is likely that the Titans will have all of their home playoff games broadcast on the network as well.
Should the schools schedule other events in their gym or at their football field, subscribers would be able to see these as well. With Covid-19 restrictions limiting attendance at activities like graduation, musical performances and pep rallies, more people will be able to take part in these functions.
