Farm to School program training on the horizon


GRANITE COUNTY - Ranchers and Farmers wishing to use their products to help local schools through the Farm to School program.

If you are interested in learning about expanding your business to reach schools, the Montana Farm to School is hosting two Bringing the Farm to School: Local Producer Trainings in Fall 2022! Learn from local experts about accessing school markets, growing products for schools, and more.

The first training will be held in three sessions, one session per week in September 2022:

  • Session 1: September 15, 2022 at 1:00pm-3:00pm - Virtual

  • Session 2: September 22, 2022 at 1:00pm-3:00pm - Virtual

  • Session 3: September 30, 2022 at 8:30am-4:00pm - Great Falls (In-person)

The first two sessions will be held virtually and will provide foundations for working with child nutrition programs. The third session will be held in-person in the Great Falls area and include more in-depth business analysis and planning as well as tour of an agricultural business.

Stipends for time and travel will be available.

Time and location for the second training are yet to be determined, so stay tuned!
