GC Sheriff gives update on Daly Fire Evacuation Order

GRANITE COUNTY - An evacuation order issued b y the Northern Rockies Team 5 for the area surrounding the Daly Fire is NOT in effect after a clarification by the Granite County Sheriff's Department. The clarification reads as follows:

In regards to the media release sent out by Northern Rockies Team 5, managing the Daly Fire, issuing an evacuation warning in Granite Co. There was little to no coordination with the Granite County Sheriff's office in regards to this media release sent out issuing an evacuation warning in the Gem Mountain area, or any ranches in the area south and east of Stony Creek south and west of Rock Creek Road, and north of Hwy 38.

Therefor there is no evacuation warning in effect in these areas. In the event of an evacuation, you will be contacted by the Sheriff or a Sheriff's Deputy.

With this conversation in mind, and with incidents like the Daly Fire in our area, it is a good idea to have an evacuation plan in place should one be ordered in the future.
