Granite County remains under fire warning
The National Weather Service (NWS) has Granite County under a Red Flag Warning for a third straight day to temperatures and wind. The warning lasts from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Thunderstorm activity in the area, combined with windy conditions, could lead to potential lightning strikes that could start a fire, said the NWS Tuesday morning..
If you see such a strike, make sure that it is a blaze before calling 9-1-1. Have exact coordinates, location information or a description of the area where the fire is along with common landmarks to help the initial attack teams get to the fire as quickly as possible.
The warning was issued on the National Weather Service website for the communities of Drummond, Philipsburg, Maxville and Georgetown Lake.
