Granite falls in five-game match at Valley Christian
MISSOULA – The Granite Lady Prospectors lost a hard-fought, five-game match with the Eagles Tuesday night, 21-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-20, 15-10. The defeat drops them to 4-2 on the young season.
“It was a hard fought game and unfortunately we let our errors, especially serving, get the best of us,” said GHS Head Coach Jennifer Graham of the match. “The girls need to regroup as we head into homecoming and our district match against Victor.”
The Lady Prospectors posted some solid statistics despite the loss, with Reece Pitcher notching nine kills and Lucia Lee getting 10 of Granite’s 20 team blocks. Rachel Ward had 19 of the locals 29 assists while Pitcher and Asha Coming had seven service aces each.
Granite will get a day off before the Pirates of Victor sail in to Philipsburg for the locals Homecoming game. Play kicks off at 5:30 with the junior varsity followed by the varsity main event at 7 p.m.
