Granite falls ‘playing up’ ahead of D13 Schedule
ANACONDA – The Granite Lady Prospectors fell to the Copperheads in Anaconda Tuesday night 59-41, gaining valuable experience against a Class B school as they get ready for their District 13C schedule to begin in earnest.
Granite led 14-13 after one period, but then scoring came fast and furious as Anaconda outscored the locals 20-13 in the second and 15-3 in the third.
The Lady Prospectors had their offense fueled by Montannah Piar, who poured in 24 points including seven three-pointers. The senior guard has scored 73 points over the last three games, averaging 24.3 points per game.
Ramsey Smith (11) and Addi Lilyquist (6) rounded out the scoring.
“We got in foul trouble early on which hurt us going into the second half,” said GHS Head Coach Cash Laslovich. “This is a good learning curve for us heading into the heart of our season. We will improve after this game and move forward.”
Granite will get some time off until January 17th when they host Valley Christian in Philipsburg.
