Granite Girls win, Boys get first loss in Harrison
HARRISON – After cruising to four straight wins before the holiday break, the Granite men stumbled Thursday night to the Wildcats in Harrison, 52-30. The Prospectors drop to 4-1 on the year.
Granite paced the Wildcats through halftime , hitting the break tied at 20 all. But Harrison’s taller team was able to make a second half run that left the visitors on the losing end of the final tally.
“We struggled finding any offense tonight,” said Prospector Head Coach Dustin Keltner. "Their length bothered us and they did a nice job defensively. Coach Murphy had his team ready to play. We didn't shoot very well, but the better team won tonight.”
Despite the loss, Brian Ward maintained the hot hand he had before Christmas, scoring 16 of his team’s 32 points.
Granite will have to get itself corrected and ready for their matchup of the year against county rival Drummond. The game will take place on the Trojans’ home court Saturday evening.
