Granite grinds down Bears in sweep
PHILIPSBURG – The two Prospector teams made easy work of the visiting Bears from Lima Friday night.
In the boys game, Granite jumped out to a huge first-quarter lead 28-4 and never let up the remainder of the game.
“The kids played hard tonight early on and we were able to jump out to an early lead,” observed GHS Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We focused on half-court offense and defense. We were down a couple starters tonight so our younger kids stepped up and played well for us.”
The missing players were starters senior Daniel Brabender (on a football recruiting trip) and junior Brian Ward (ankle sprain).
Kade Cutler led a quartet of Prospectors that scored double figures in the game with 19, 10 of which came in that opening surge. Bryce Parret added 12, eight of which was in the same run. Andrew Tallon had 14 and Kai O’Donnell had 12 for Granite.
The Prospectors are home Saturday and will host Seeley Swan.
