Granite handles Lynx in Lincoln to stay unbeaten
LINCOLN – The Lady Prospectors experienced only a minor hiccup on their way to a 25-10, 25-16, 25-23, 25-11 win over the Lynx in Lincoln. The win keeps Granite perfect on the year at 2-0.
After posting a pair of commanding victories, the Lady Prospectors lost a little momentum as the hosts were able to capture Game 3. But Game 4 saw Granite rebound to claim the game and the match.
“We have work to do,” said senior Asha Comings, “but we’re excited for our next game.”
Comings was the team leader in kills with eight while Rachel Ward handed out eight assists. Reece Pitcher collected 14 of Granite’s 25 service aces and tied Lucia Lee with six blocks each. Annabelle Locke and Ward had three digs apiece.
The Lady Prospectors will get the weekend off after having their tournament in Manhattan Christian cancelled and will play next on Tuesday at Darby. That game will be televised on the NFHS Network.
