Granite opens D13C Tourney with sweep of St. Regis

PABLO – The Granite Lady Prospectors opened the 2024 District 13C Volleyball Tournament a little shaky, bust eventually walked away with a straight set sweep of St. Regis.

The victory puts the Lady Prospectors into the Winner’s Bracket semifinal where they will face the winner of the Valley Christian-Seeley Swan match at 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Granite struggled to find its rhythm early, trailing numerous times in the opening set before edging out a win, 25-21. Additional effort was required again in the second set, but the locals recovered to win 25-17.

It wasn’t until the third set that Granite finally found its mojo, cruising to an easy 25-14 victory.

Montannah Piar led all attackers in the game with 11 kills and a pair of blocks at the net.Ella Talon had 25 assists and tied teammate Ramsey Smith with four service aces.
