Granite sinks opposing Pirates at home, away
PHILIPSBURG – The Granite Prospectors bounced back from a tough loss over the weekend to claim a 64-26 win from the Victor Pirates Tuesday in their home opener.
The Prospectors (1-1) started quickly with Brandon Ward scoring eight first quarter points on his way to a game-high 21 for the night. Andrew Tallon and Mayson Palen added seven and six in the stanza to give Granite a lead it would never relinquish.
Palen finished with 18 and Tallon 11 as the trio led all scorers in the game.
The Prospectors will head to Darby Saturday to take on the Tigers.

Lady Prospectors keep it rolling with win at Victor
VICTOR – Teammates Rachel Ward and Asha Comings combined for 15 first-quarter as Granite routed the Pirates in Victor Tuesday night.
The Lady Prospectors (2-0) piled another 22 points on in the second period to put the game well out of reach early.
Comings finished with 15 points, with Ward adding 12 and Lucia Lee 13.
Granite will be back home Saturday to host the Tigers of Darby.
