CHARLO – For the second time in as many outings the Granite boys and girls basketball teams suffered a loss to a non-district opponent, this time to Vikings in Charlo.

Charlo 73, Granite 28
The Prospectors were only down seven before the host Vikings used an 18-4 second quarter to pull away and secure the victory.
“We didn’t play our game,” said GHS Head Coach Mindy Avila. “We started out with some intensity and it kinda looked like we got scared and that caused us not to play our game in the first half. The second half we fell into a little rhythm but still played a bit scared. We need to focus on our defense and boxing out.”
Junior Andrew Tallon was the only Granite player that managed double figures in the loss with 15.
The Prospectors will get one more bite at the apple Tuesday when they travel to Missoula to take on Valley Christian.
