Lady Prospectors fall in Seeley
SEELEY LAKE – The Granite Lady Prospectors fell in straight sets Saturday at Seeley Swan.
The loss cements Granite into fourth place in the District 13C standings, with the locals playing their likely first-round tournament foe Victor Tuesday to close out district play. The only way that the Lady Prospectors could play Darby is if the Lady Tigers defeat Drummond Thursday.
“When the scores go from 25-21 down to 25-12,” observed GHS Head Coach Kaley Hansen, “that's usually an indication that we are not jiving as a team or there is something going on internally; that will be our focus moving forward for these next two weeks.”
Regaining their focus will be of top priority, as Granite will host Superior in their final regular season match before heading to Missoula to compete in the District 13C Tournament.
Sophomore Montannah Piar was the Lady Prospectors’ top player, leading in kills (6), aces (2), and digs (10). Seniors Gretchen Hill and Lucia Lee each had three kills with the latter also chipping in a pair of blocks. Ella Tallon led with eight assists.
