Lady Prospectors head to Consolation title game with win over Valley Christian

HAMILTON – A night after falling into the Consolation bracket, the Lady Prospectors easily moved passed the Lady Eagles of Valley Christian 55-35 Saturday morning in the District 13C Basketball Tournament. The event is being held at Hamilton High School.

Granite (16-5) advances to the Consolation Championship Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. Against Darby. The Lady Tigers beat Lincoln 36-22 in their semifinal. Valley exits the tournament with a season record of 5-14.

The Lady Prospectors got ahead of the Lady Eagles and stayed there throughout the game. Valley made several attempts to get back into the contest but could never close the gap significantly.

Montannah Piar led Granite with 18 points and five steals, with Rachel Ward scoring 11.

Carmandee Coghlan was the top scorer for the Lady Eagles with 10.
