Lady Prospectors keep pace with win at Victor
VICTOR – Granite made the most of their road trip to Victor Thursday night, beating the host Lady Pirates 25-13, 25-20, 25-17.
“We're starting to work as one unit on the court rather than six individuals,” said GHS Head Coach Kaley Hansen. “At the end of the day I just want the girls to have fun and love volleyball and I feel like that's happening more than it was at the beginning of the season.”
Balance was the name of the game for the locals, with eight different Lady Prospectors collecting at least one kill. The top attacker was Montannah Piar with six. Piar also had two blocks to tie teammate Lucia Lee in that category while Ella Tallon led in assists with 16 and aces with five.
Granite will now face a staunch test this week as they face two of District 13’s top three teams. The Lady Prospectors travel to Missoula Tuesday to play the third-place Lady Eagles of Valley Christian before returning home to take on first-place Drummond Thursday. Granite pushed the Lady Trojans as hard as anyone this season, losing a hard-fought five-set match in Drummond September 8.
