Lady Prospectors late run falls short in D13 Finals loss
SEELEY LAKE – Granite finally found its offensive rhythm after the break, but it proved too little too late as they fell to Seeley Swan 61-45.
“We came out slow and they came out strong. They hit shots and we turned it over too much. The girls battled in the second half, I'm proud of how hard they play.
Going into next week we need to make sure we limit second chance points and play four quarters of good basketball.”
The sluggish start afforded the Blackhawks a 36-12 halftime lead. But the Lady Prospectors battled back with runs of 12-10 in the third and 21-15 in the fourth to close the gap.
Asha Comings had 16 to lead Granite in the scoring column, with Reece Pitcher and Amelia Hill each adding 11.
The Lady Prospectors will open play in the Western Divisional Tournament Wednesday at 1 p.m. against Manhattan Christian, the No. 1 seed from 12C. The event will be held at Powell County High School..00
