Lady Prospectors stay on track, collect win at Victor
VICTOR – The Granite Lady Prospectors earned a four-set win over the Pirates in Victor Thursday night, keeping them on pace with Seeley in District play.
Granite started the match with a strong 25-10 win, before falling in a closer set 25-21 in the second. But the Lady Prospectors shook off the defeat to collect sets three and four (25-22, 25-19) to secure the match.
Granite’s attack at the net was dispersed amongst its three big hitters with Asha Comings leading the way with 10 kills. She was followed closely by Reece Pitcher with seven and Lucia Lee with six. Comings also tied with teammate Annabelle Locke to lead in digs with nine and had eight service aces. Pitcher was tops in blocks with five and setter Rachel Ward dished 19 assists.
The Lady Prospectors will play a big match this coming Thursday when they take on the Blackhawks in Seeley Lake. That game will be broadcast on the NFHS Network.
