Lady Trojans cage Lynx for second win
LINCOLN – Drummond took a trip to Lincoln Tuesday night and claimed their second win of the young season with a 25-12, 25-20, 25-11 sweep of the host Lynx.
The Lady Trojans paced their hosts through the first two matches before hitting the accelerator and pulling away in the match’s deciding set.
Senior Hadley Spencer had a pair of length service runs in the third set that sealed the deal for the locals. She finished with three aces from the back line.
Junior Jessie Struna had nine aces to lead Drummond, five of which came on a service stint in Game 1 and led to the win. She had a team best 11 assists.
Holly Hauptman was tops at the net with nine of the Lady Trojans’ 19 kills.
Drummond will get a day off Wednesday before hosting Victor Thursday. The JV will kick off action at 5:30 followed by the varsity at 7 p.m. Both matches are schedule to be shown on the NFHS Network.
