The Trojans had to work to keep their Class C record blameless Thursday, as Sheridan battled them to a 16-14 halftime lead. It was then that DHS Head Coach Levi Parsons made a few adjustments that opened the flood gates to a 14-2 third quarter that permanently shifted the momentum in the Trojans’ favor.
“We made a change defensively and went to a 1-3-1 zone and they struggled to move the ball against us,” revealed Parsons after the game. “We were able to turn the ball over 50 times. And then we were able to get into our transition offense and we were able to get a lot of scoring out of that”
In addition to taking care of the ball, Drummond also held a sizeable rebounding advantage (36-25) by game’s end.
Colt Parsons and Caleb Park led the locals in scoring with 14 and 11, respectively. While combing for just seven points, Trojans big men Ben Bradshaw and Sam Bryant led the charge off the glass with eight rebounds each.
