Lady Trojans exorcise Lady Devils in straight sets
DRUMMOND – The Drummond Lady Trojans kept on rolling in District 13C/14C play, earning a straight set victory over visiting Noxon.
The win improves Drummond to 7-1 with just three district matches left to play. The first of those will be hosting Victor Tuesday night.
“Tonight was about trying to be consistent,” said DHS Head Coach Samantha Larson. “Serving could have been better. But I was happy with the defensive consistency, because sometimes when these games have lulls, we get lazy. So today was about just muscling through and being consistent.”
Consistent play was the theme, as the Lady Trojans easily handled the visiting Lady Devils throughout the match.
Junior Kimber Parsons led at the net with 12 kills and five blocks. Anna Kate Sawfer was dealing assists on many of Parsons’ points, collecting 26 on the night. The senior setter also had a team-best six service aces. Hazel Sawfer led in digs with nine to go along with her four kills and three aces.
