Lady Trojans fall to Gardiner in Division Tournament opener

MANHATTAN - The Drummond Lady Trojans couldn't quite find their groove Thursday morning and lost to Gardiner 3-1 in their opening match of the MHSA Class C Western Division Volleyball Tournament at Manhattan Christian.

The Lady Bruins claimed the first two sets 25-16 & 25-22 before Drummond could get in sync enough to win the third 25-22. The locals led 17-4 before Gardiner started a comeback that almost gave them the sweep.

The Lady Bruins regained control in set four to win the match and advance to a winner's bracket semifinal Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Drummond falls into the consolation Bracket and will face Clark Fork Friday at 10 a.m. The Lady Mountain Cats lost to the defending state champions Manhattan Christian 3-0 in their opener.
