The Lady Trojans pitched a first-quarter shutout against the Lynx as they scored 18 points on their way to a 33-point victory.

The Lady Trojans will be off for the remainder of the holidays, returning to action January 6 at Lincoln.

The Trojans got back on track after Friday night’s loss to Powell County, bludgeoning the Lynx with a 44-point margin of victory.
Pinpoint passing and a staunch defense were the hallmarks of Drummond’s play in the first half, outscoring Lincoln 48-12 over the first two periods.
“I felt pretty good about it (passing) in the first half,” said DHS Head Coach Levi Parsons of his team’s play, “but we got a little careless in the second half and we turned the ball way more than I wanted us too.”
When asked what he would have the squad working on over the break, Parsons replaied, “We’re going to address some defensive issues. We want to push the ball and that’s great and we’re trying to score off that as much as we can. But one thing we’ve got to bet better at is knowing when that opportunity is done and get back into our offense. We have a tendency to go for from fast break into open gym basketball and it gets ugly.”
Senior Caleb Parke led the team in scoring with 23 points and added six assists and seven steals for good measure. Colt Parsons chipped in 11 points in the winning effort.
The Trojan boys will join their female counterparts January 6 at Lincoln when they return to play.
