Lady Trojans take first step toward District 13 playoffs

DRUMMOND – The Drummond Lady Trojans claimed a 50-19 blowout win over Victor Tuesday night. But more importantly they took their first step on a four-game journey to hold onto third place in District 13 play.
After taking a 10-4 lead through one quarter, the Lady Trojans used runs of 18-5 and 15-6 in the middle two periods to secure the victory.
Senior Hannah Bradshaw led Drummond with 13 points, but left the game in the third quarter with an apparent knee injury. Her status is unknown for tomorrow night’s game against Granite, a game the Lady Trojans desperately need to maintain their third-place standing. Bradshaw’s potential absence would add to a growing injury list for the locals, with Senior Sydney Phillips and freshman eighth grader Cyleigh Langton also down with ankle injuries.
Rounding out the scoring for Drummond was Holly Hauptman with 12 points, Jessie Struna and Lexi Nelson with six apiece and Bailey Parke with five.
The county rivalry game will tip off at 5:30 Wednesday night in the Drummond gymnasium. The game will be broadcast on the NFHS Network with an audio simulcast on the Facebook page of the Flint Creek Courier.
