MSU Extension to host food preservation classes in Drummond and Anaconda
Dr. Brianna Routh, the Montana State University Extension Food and Family Specialist, will teach a safe food preservation and water bath canning class in Drummond September 06 and Anaconda September 07.
The classes, which will be held at Drummond High School and Hope Lutheran Church, will cost $20.00 per person and will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants will learn proper cutting techniques, gain access to a number of research-based resources, and can salsa. Snacks will be provided.
In addition to the course, interested parties will have the opportunity to purchase the “So Easy to Preserve” book from The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension for $33.00. The book, which is currently in its 6th edition, includes 388 pages of up-to-date, research-tested information related to drying, freezing, canning, and pickling.
