Obituary: Betty Lu Smith (Tubbs)

Betty Lu Smith (Tubbs), 80, of Moses Lake WA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 23, 2021.

Betty Lu was born May 17, 1941 in Missoula, Montana to Annah and Ernest Tubbs. After graduation she moved to White Bear Lake, MN where she raised her three children. In 1988 she went to work for Trident Seafoods in Alaska and met the love of her life Steve Smith. They were married on November, 18, 1989.

Betty Lu is preceded in death by her parents Annah and Ernest Tubbs; brothers, Ernest (Bud) Tubbs, and Richard Tubbs; sisters, Lucretia Denman and Rose Cahoon; Son Richard Simpson Sr., and great-granddaughter Mystic Simpson.

She is survived by her loving husband Steve Smith; Son, Ted Simpson of Moses Lake, WA; Daughters, Annah (Warren) Strader of Moses Lake, WA, Sandy (Eddie) Anderson of Lino Lakes, MN, Jill Little of Beaverton, OR, and Elaine Garcia of Hillsboro, OR; Sisters, Annah (Gary) Wilmonen of Lolo, MT, Kathy (Billy) Estes of Kalispell, MT, Mary Lou Hodge of Oakdale, MN, Merry (Jim) Henderson of Hall, MT, and Carol Wertz of Idaho Falls, ID; Grandchildren, Nachole (Dave) Zickuhr , Katherine (Tom) Schumer, Richard Jr (Tessa) Simpson, Ted (Indya) Simpson, Darren (Katie) Strader, Danny (Jenny) Simpson, Amanda (Roger) Skjelstad, Heather Simpson, Brittany (Cris) Simpson, Brianna (George) Godina, Alyssa (Alec) Brainard, Yvonne Hawkins, Madalynn Garcia, and Amarayn Garcia plus 20 Great-Grandchildren, many cousins, nieces & nephews and friends.
