Philipsburg hosts inaugural Veterans Day Celebration & Remembrance event

PHILIPSBURG - One of the best small towns in America just got a little bit better.

Philipsburg was chosen by the Veterans Day National Committee as a regional site for a celebration & remembrance of those that fight and have fought for our nation's freedom. The local event included a parade down Broadway and a multifaceted ceremony at the historic Philipsburg Theatre. This first-ever event in Granite County's government seat was well attended, and indications are that there may be plans for more like-minded events in the future.

Philipsburg's next event is scheduled for December 8 when the town will be aglow for its annual Lighted Christmas Parade.

The Flint Creek Courier was invited to journal the event, recording the parade and the ceremony.
