Prospector Girls, Guys remain unbeaten after facing Lincoln
PHILIPSBURG – Granite’s Girls and Boys basketball teams continued their early win streaks with easy victories over the Lynx Thursday at home.
Girls Basketball
Granite 57, Lincoln 16
The Lady Prospectors started the night with a 26-2 run over the first eight minutes and never looked back.
“We shot the ball well and the girls played very unselfish basketball,” said GHS Head Coach Brandon Piazolla.
Seniors Reece Pitcher and Asha Comings shared the top-scoring honors with 13 points each, while Rachel Ward was close behind at nine.

Boys Basketball
Granite 71, Lincoln 46
Hayden Mason and Andrew Tallon lit it from the cheap seats Thursday night, hitting a combined 10 three-point baskets. Mason finished with a game-high 32 points with Tallon at 22. Cayhel White hit a pair of treys as well on his way to a 10-point outing.
"We came out strong and did our thing,” said Mason after the win. “We have some real play makers on the team and our chemistry is something else."
GHS Head Coach Mindy Avila added, “I love how this school and community has embraced Hayden. He's unselfish and always pumps these guys up. Every single one of our starters are shooters and the chemistry they have on the court is amazing. Truly honored and humbled to be a part of this program. Our main focus now as coaches is to get their defense tighter and have less turnovers.”
