Prospectors gain experience in road loss to Falcons
TWIN BRIDGES – Granite ran into one of the state’s top defensive teams Friday night, falling to Twin Bridges on the road, 58-18.
“Twin's man defense was amazing. Best we've faced in my time at Granite,” said GHS Head Coach Dustin Keltner. “We did some great things defensively in the first half, but you have to hit some shots to stay with any team, let alone a top tier group like Twin.”
The Prospectors scored a scant three points in the opening stanza, but held the Falcons to just seven to keep the game close. But Granite eventually faltered in the second as Twin Bridges used a 16-5 run in the second to take a 23-8 halftime lead.
Scoring was light Friday for the locals, with Mason Palen topping the scorebook with six points.
Granite will play Lincoln Saturday before opening the playoffs Tuesday at home against winless Lincoln.
