Six area players make All-Conference Volleyball Team

GRANITE COUNTY – Drummond and Granite landed three players each on the All-Conference Volleyball Team for the 2020 season.

The Lady Trojans advanced to the finals of District 13C, taking second before drawing eventual state champion Manhattan Christian in the first round of the Divisional Tournament and bowing out. Due to special rules in this season of the pandemic, both the district and division tournaments were single elimination events.

Deana Parke, Sydney Phillips and Hannah Bradshaw were tabbed as the top players from Drummond, all three playing in their senior season.

Parke was the lone player to be named to the All-State team, finishing the year as Drummond’s top server with 80 service aces. She collected 116 points on 52 kills and 5.5 blocks. She also was tops in digs with 164.

Phillips was the top striker at the net, hammering a team-best 164 kills and 40 blocks. Additionally she chipped in 42 aces and 109 digs. Phillips finished with a team best 219 total points.

Bradshaw had 81 kills and five blocks on her way to 119 points for the year. She had 154 defensive digs and 60 service aces.

Granite also saw three players make the All-Conference roster in Amelia Hill, Reece Pitcher and Asha Comings.

Hill was lone senior to get the nod, finishing the season with 119 kills and 42.5 blocks at the net. She also contributed 17 service aces and eight digs.

Pitcher and Comings tied with 85 kills each. Pitcher had 39 blocks, 36 aces and 31 digs while Comings added 32 blocks, 58 aces and 60 defensive digs.

The Lady Prospectors finished third in the district tournament.

The remaining members of the 13C All-District Team were: Klaire Kovatch (Seeley), Sariah Maughn (Seeley), Jordan Johnson (Seeley), Madison Conner (Darby), Taylor Vance (Valley Christian) and Ellie Hover (Valley Christian). Kovatch and Maughn were named to the All-0State along with Parke.
