Small airplane makes emergency landing near Hall
HALL – Ranchers get things landing in the pasture all the time, they just usually aren’t airplanes.
The Granite County Sheriff’s Department received a call at 5:05 p.m. about a small aircraft needing to make an emergency landing. Air Traffic Control in Salt Lake City, Utah notified the local authorities that the aircraft would likely make a crash landing 2-3 miles short of the runway in Philipsburg. Emergency responders were dispatched to the area and to help locate the airplane.
The Sheriff’s Department was receiving information via a relay from the damaged craft via another airplane and then through air traffic control.
It was determined later that the aircraft made a safe landing in a rancher’s pasture northeast of Hall. The plane was carrying two passengers that were both uninjured. There was also no damage noted to the plane.
