SNAPPED! Trojans boys fall in Seeley to end 10-game streak


SEELEY LAKE – The Lady Blackhawks soared over the Lady Trojans while the two boy’s teams played down to the wire Friday in Seeley Lake.

 

Boys Varsity

Seeley Swan 48, Drummond 40

The Drummond Trojans started slowly, trailing 19-5 after one period but battled back to knot the game at 38-38 with just over three minutes to play. But failed shots and a string of Blackhawk free throws ended up giving host Seeley an eight-point margin of victory.

The loss ends a season-long 11-game win streak against Class C teams, leaving the Trojans at 11-2 on the year. Their only other loss was against Class B Powell County who they will face again in Drummond Feb. 8.

Colt Parsons was the leading scorer for the locals with 16.

Boys Junior Varsity

Seeley Swan 34, Drummond 26

Scott Parke and Chance Dunkerson had five points each for the Trojans.

 

Girls Varsity

Seeley Swan 72, Drummond 50

Drummond trailed by just two after eight minutes of play, but a 25-11 run by the Lady Blackhawks put them ahead for good.

The loss drops the Lady Trojans to 10-3 on the year. All three losses are in District play – one to Granite and two to the Lady Blackhawks.

Jesse Struna was the lone Drummond player to find double digits in scoring with 14.

Drummond outrebounded their hosts 36-25, but committed 38 turnovers to Seeley’s 16.

Brook Hicks led the Lady Trojans to the only victory of the day for the locals with 15 points, while Kimber Parsons added nine and Delaney Wagner eight.
