Titans schedule moves forward with changes
GRANITE COUNTY - Following the Week 1 trevails of a positive COVID-19 test, the Flint Creek Titans 8-man football team will move forward into their next game with a few alterations to their overall schedule.
Due to the positive test of a player, the Plains Horsemen exercised their option to withdraw from their game in Philipsburg, making it a no contest and not affecting either team's record.
That decision left the Titans in a lurch as they had planned to honor their seven seniors that night. In light of that Flint Creek has moved Senior Night to this Friday, September 4. That game, which was originally scheduled to be played in Drummond, will now be played at George Mungas Field at Granite High School in Philipsburg at 7 p.m.
To keep a balance between playing sites, the Titans will play their game October 9 in Drummond. That game is against Sheridan and will kickoff at 7 p.m.
The loss of their opening week game is just the second time the co-op has experienced such an occurrence in it's eight year history. The last time was 2017 when Hot Springs failed to field a team. That season Flint Creek went on to post a 12-0 record and the first of it's two consecutive state championship seasons.
