Valley Fire District receives $100K grant towards new station

DRUMMOND - The Valley Fire District received a $100,000 grant from AgWest Farm Credit Sunday.

The presentation was made during the station's annual Pancake Breakfast, one of two major fundraisers that the VFD runs each year to create funds for equipment, vehicles and buildings.

The VFD's other major fundraiser, their annual Duck Races, are scheduled for August 11 at 6 p.m. at the Drummond Park. Tickets can be obtained from one of the volunteer firemen for $5 each or a 'flock' of five for $20.
